An exceedingly rare piece of Pentacon history, not many made it to the west during production and even less of the lens it was supplied with. Made between 68-72, the Pentacon behind the wall, tried to compete with the likes of Nikon and Canon but unfortunately fell short, whilst its design incorporated better ergonomics in some cases, Nikon & Canons ingenuity in electronics and design and its inventiveness towards the Pro market at the time left Pentacon in the dust with it's antiquated motordrive and bulk film back designs.

It's a superb piece of photographic history and in near mint condition too despite a little paint wear around the shutter button shroud, the baseplate and top plate are lovely, the baseplate has a stamp that i've tracked down to be an East German Proof Mark reserved for military equipment during 1950-1992, reserved mainly for shotguns of 'Outstanding Quality'.

The camera itself functions very well with a crisp, accurate shutter, smooth wind on, smooth shutter select, clean finder with some minimal marks (these were never awfully bright anyway), the screen is interchangeable, smooth rewind, clean film bay and working frame counter.

We do regret to say that the 'incredibly reliable' metering head is not working and so is sold as seen.

Camera lens in superb condition, and again another rare piece with only 5,000 every produced, the 55mm f1.4 Zebra Pancolor, lens has smooth focus, clean working apertures, both front and rear elements are clean with no marks or scratches, middle of the rear optical block has some clouding around the exterior edge and is a common thing I've seen previously on Jena lenses of this age, this should not affect performance as it's outside of the film crop of the projected image circle.

Camera comes with original case which needs a little TLC, caps and instruction manual.
